Anabahati Mlay is a highly respected leadership and gender specialist, renowned for her advocacy and work in advancing gender equality, particularly in the world of work. With a strong focus on inclusive economic empowerment, she is dedicated to facilitating the active participation of women and youth in business leadership and decision-making spaces.
Currently serving as the Tanzania Country Manager and Lead for the Women Creating Wealth (WCW) Programmeat the Graça Machel Trust, Anabahati plays a key role in driving systemic change within the entrepreneurial ecosystem. Through her work, she champions equitable access to finance, markets, and supportive networks for women and youth entrepreneurs, while actively collaborating with stakeholders to foster a more enabling business environment.
Previously, Anabahati served as the Coordinator of the Female Future Programme, an initiative aimed at increasing women’s representation in senior leadership and board-level positions. Her leadership in this role sharpened her expertise in closing gender and skills gaps and advancing inclusive practices in professional spaces.
